Gibson to Wear Red, White, and Blue

Missouri pitcher Kyle Gibson earned a spot on the USA National baseball team.
Gibson had a 1-1 record in qualifying, and struck out eleven batters in eight innings.

Royals Showing Signs of Life

The Kansas City Royals may be in last place in the American League Central, but they
have won seven of their last eight games. Three of those victories came against the Cardinals
in St. Louis.

Cards Impressive in Boston

No National League team had ever swept a three game from the Red Sox in Boston, since interleague play began.
The Cards were unable to do it, but did win two of three from the defending World Champs
at Fenway Park.
The only Cardinal loss came in 13 innings Sunday.

No Pujols, No Problem

Albert Pujols may miss three weeks of action with a calf injury, but the Cards did not miss him Wednesday night in Cincinnati. Ryan Ludwick continued his hot hitting, and Braden Looper threw a complete game three-hitter, as the Cards blanked the Reds 10-0.

Cards Pitching Woes

Chris Carpenter and Mark Mulder have not been able to pitch for the Cards this season.
Now, another Redbird starter is on the disabled list. The Cards put Adam Wainwright
on the disabled list with a sprained finger.

The season is over for the Mizzou baseball team.
The Tigers lost an elimination game to Mississippi
in Coral Gables, Florida Sunday 9-6.
The Tigers end the season with a record of 39-21.
