What an interesting college football season! Oklahoma is ranked #1, Missouri #4, and Texas
#5. Three big 12 teams among the nation's top 5! The conference has six teams among the top 25, the most of any conference.

Upset Special

The #1 ranked USC Trojans lost at Oregon State Thursday night 27-21. The loss makes things very interesting for teams like Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, LSU and Missouri in terms of the
national championship race.

A Silver Lining

The Royals completed a sweep of their series in Detroit with a 10-4 win Wednesday night.
Kansas City has won 11 of 18 games against the Tigers this season. The Royals are a game above the Tigers in the American League Central. The season series victory for Kansas City over Detroit might be enough to allow the Royals to finish above Detroit, and out of last place in the divsion this season.

A Spartan Effort in Moberly

Coach Jason Ambroson has done some job coaching football in Moberly.
Now in his eigth year on the job, Ambroson has Moberly unbeaten and ranked third
in the state. The Spartans expected a crowd of about 3, 000 for their homecoming game
against Mexico.

Gill Returns to Missouri

Turner Gill is the head coach of the Buffalo University football team. He leads the Bulls
to Faurot Field Saturday for a game with the Missouri Tigers. Gill had tremendous success against Mizzou as a quarterback, and then assistant coach with Nebraska.

'Spoon Setting the Pace

Missouri linebacker Sean Weatherspoon has returned two intercpetions for touchdowns this season, one in each of Missouri's two victories. He has three interceptions overall, and leads the
NCAA in that category.

Tigers Win Big

Mizzou improved to 2-0 in football with a 52-3 win over Southeast Missouri State.
Chase Daniel completed 16 of 17 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns.

Missouri Ready for Fall Sports

The Missouri fall sports teams are underway with their respective seasons.
The Tiger football team won its season opener against Illinois 52-42.
The Mizzou soccer team after an NCAA Tournament appearance a year ago,
has started 1-1, with a win over Auburn, after a season-opening loss to Illinois.
The Tiger volleyball team won two of its first three matches in a tournament in
Provo, Utah.
The Mizzou cross country teams will make their home debut September 13th,
with a meet against Kansas and Murray State.

Tiger Football A Hot Ticket

Missouri has sold more than 40, 000 season tickets for this football season.
That shatters its record of just under 35, 000 season tickets sold in 2004.
The Tigers host Southeast Missouri State Saturday at 6 pm.
